Spanish authorities have approved measures and its energy saving plan to ensure economic sustainability, prohibiting air conditioners in institutions at full capacity and highlighting shop windows at night, the government said on its website.
The law included a plan for energy saving and energy management in air conditioning in office buildings, public buildings and shops. So, the Spaniards were forbidden to turn on air conditioners at temperatures below +27 degrees, and heaters – above +19 degrees.
The administrations of institutions will have to install automatic doors, and store owners will have to turn off the backlighting of shop windows at 22:00.
“The standard also includes measures to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy sources. To this end, the processing of electrical networks and infrastructure will be streamlined, the injection of renewable gases into the gas pipeline network will be facilitated, and storage and own consumption will be ensured,” the Spanish Council of Ministers said.
The energy ministers of the EU countries agreed on a general plan for saving gas, local media reported. They obliged the members of the alliance to introduce rationing of their consumption.
