Israeli Companies Want To Implement Renewable Energy Projects in Azerbaijan

Israeli companies are interested in implementing projects in the renewable energy sector (RES) in Azerbaijan, Israeli ambassador to Azerbaijan, George Dick, told local media.

“We encourage more Israeli companies to participate in RES projects, especially in solar and wind energy – these are the areas where we have a relative advantage compared to other countries. There are several options that, I believe, the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan will soon present, including projects on liberated lands, and we will definitely invite Israeli companies to participate, which, I hope, will become another bridge in successful energy cooperation between the two countries “, he said.

According to the ambassador, cooperation in the energy sector is part of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Israel.

“Oil shipments to Israel from Azerbaijan make up 40 percent of the total volume of imports. We are lucky that we have such a reliable and strong partner as Azerbaijan, and this is something that not everyone has, especially now, in the conditions of the global energy crisis,” the diplomat added.

According to him, the two countries definitely intend to expand their cooperation when it comes to developing renewable energy projects.

“We hope to see stability in the world energy industry, and this will happen with such players as Israel and Azerbaijan, which make their contribution and are recognized as part of an equal energy system”, the ambassador emphasized.
