Wind and solar energy plants in Russia increased their output during January-April 2022 by 61.9% compared to the same period in 2021, to 2.77 billion kWh, local media reported.
The information is stated in the report of Russia’s “System Operator” of the Unified Energy System (SO UES).
The total generation of RES (wind and solar energy plants) in the UES of Russia in April 2022 amounted to 766.2 million kWh, which is 66.6% more than in April 2021, for four months – 2,770.4 million kWh h, which is 61.9% more than in the same period of 2021, the report said.
At the same time, in the overall structure of electricity generation, renewable energy generation accounted for 0.8% of total production in April and 0.7% for four months of 2022.
In particular, wind power plants increased their output by 121.6% in April, and by 88.2% in January-April. Production at SPP increased by 12.2% and 12.8%, respectively.
